Season Three began airing on September 23, 2010 and contained twenty-two episodes. Kidnapped to an alternate universe and replaced in her own world by a woman that isn't her, Olivia Dunham is trapped. She must get home to her real world in order to prevent Walternate from implementing the final stages of his plan - a plan that could result in the destruction of our world. Or theirs.

Back "over here," the Fringe Division investigates a bizarre phenomenon when 15 people up and down the Eastern Seaboard, all suffer retrograde amnesia from listening to their shortwave radios on the same frequency. Much to Walter's dismay, Peter presses on with piecing together the mass destruction device. Just as alternate Olivia and Peter's chemistry deepens, the anticipation of Olivia's return escalates. In 1985, Elizabeth, worried that Peter will attempt to kill himself trying to return to what he believes is his home, takes him to Jacksonville where Walter is conducting Cortexiphan trials on children. Walter finds young Olivia has been able to cross to the parallel universe, believed to be a result of fear of her abusive stepfather, and sees it as a way to return Peter. Read more…

The Fringe team investigates a case of thieves stealing rare metals that appear to float from the ground. Walter identifies traces of the elements osmium and lutetium in their blood, the alloy inexplicably creating a material lighter than air. They discover the culprit, Dr. Krick an aerospace engineer who discovered the alloy and saw to try to detoxify it as a means to allow his paraplegic son to walk again. Read more…
