Fringe was renewed for a fifth and final season on April 26, 2012. It consisted of thirteen episodes airing from September 28, 2012, to January 18, 2013. The final season takes place in 2036. The Observers have invaded and taken control of the planet.

The Resistance is in full swing, especially after the return of the original Fringe Division, who were trapped in amber for twenty years. Discovered by his daughter, Henrietta (Georgina Haig), Peter (Joshua Jackson) begins looking for Olivia (Anna Torv). Together, with the help of Astrid (Jasika Nicole), and the brilliant- but insane- Walter Bishop (John Noble), the Fringe team will take their final stand against the Observers, looking for the key to their destruction, a key that just so happens to be locked away in Walter's muddled and unpredictable mind.

Fringe Division goes rogue in their most dangerous mission yet.
