John Litvack was a consulting producer for the first season of Fringe. He also worked on Smallville.
John died March 21, 2015, from respiratory failure, a complication from a cardiac surgery he had undergone earlier in the year. He was 69. Often referred to as the dean of current programming, Litvack had a rare career path where he frequently switched back and forth between being an executive and working as a director and producer.
