Eddie Blake is the unseen nephew of Olivia Dunham mentioned in Season 4's Nothing As It Seems.

He is the second child of Greg Blake and his wife, Rachel (portrayed by Ari Graynor), Olivia's younger sister. Eddie was named after his late grandfather, Eddie Dunham. His older sister is Ella Blake (portrayed by Lily Pilblad and later Emily Meade).

Background[]

Born between 2004 and 2012, his existence is a result of a Butterfly effect from Alternate Peter Bishop's death by drowning at age 7 in Reiden Lake, a timeline altering act by September that led to a series of different choices for characters directly and indirectly related to him (from 1985 onwards). This means Eddie did not exist before the Alternate Timeline.

In the Original Timeline, only his older sister, Ella (born 2003) existed. Eddie is implied to have been a factor in making Rachel and Greg's marriage more stable in the revised timeline. It is also possible that Nina Sharp's wealth and opulence has made the Blake family more grounded.

Biography[]

He has never appeared on the show, and has only been referred to once: when Olivia's memories were replaced from the Original Timeline, she was given a psych evaluation by Dr. Anderson. She forgot that her sister was still married to Greg and also forgot about the existence of her nephew entirely. This was used as evidence to suggest that she was mentally unfit for duty. Later, the Observers purged Chicago, implying the Blakes did not survive to 2036. However, if not, they were revived anyway due to the Final Timeline following Walter Bishop's sacrifice.
