Cameron James is one of the Jacksonville Cortexiphan child test subjects, Subject 9. He has the power to affect electromagnetic fields but claims to have no real control over it, things happen involuntarily - metal goes flying - when he gets upset.
He tells Olivia Dunham a story about saying something stupid on a date, and in reacting to the girl's reaction, causing her metal fillings to be pulled out. He feels he has been left with troublesome side effects, but no useful special power. He considers himself a freak and blames Walter Bishop, who in turn tells Cameron he can learn how to control it.
